Car rams into schoolboys on bicycles, 1 critically injured

Four schoolboys on bicycles were injured, one of them critically, when they were knocked down by a car in Jalan Permatang Batu in Bukit Mertajam, mainland Penang, late Saturday night.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Rusli Mohd Noor said in the 11.20pm incident, a 26-year-old woman driver knocked down the four boys on three bicycles.

"Mohd Nur Amier Ishak, 13, who sustained serious injuries in the body and head and is reported to be in critical condition at Seberang Jaya Hospital.

"His friend, Amirul Haiza Hakimi Abdullah Sani, 14, who sustained a broken leg, is being treated at the same hospital, but is in stable condition," he said yesterday.
  
Muhammad Nasrul Hisham Muhammad Nazri and Mohd Alif Rosdi, both 11, are being treated at Bukit Mertajam Hospital.

Rusli said the boys were riding from Jalan Permatang Rawa to Jalan Permatang Batu when the car, coming from Jalan Sungai Rambai, knocked them down from behind. – Bernama, March 14, 2016.
