The people of Negri Sembilan are advised not to dabble in forex trading and risk falling prey to conmen.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said forex trading should not be taken up by those without knowledge of how it worked.
"I realise that forex trading is lately the conversation topic in the coffee shops," he said.
He warned that those who were not conversant with the way it worked could also be easily cheated.
"If one is not knowledgeable, one can be cheated in the blink of an eye," he said.
Mohamad said the public should not be talked into it by individuals or groups who claimed to be experts in forex trading.
"Do not fall for their sweet promises; anything that is too good to be true should smell fishy."
He said forex trading was also very much like gambling, which is not an activity to be encouraged.
“As a leader, it is my responsibility to advise the people so that it does not become a social problem in the state. We do not want to see people in the state losing money and getting into debt."
It was reported yesterday that an unemployed woman was charged in the Seremban Sessions Court with cheating RM1 million.
She was accused of deceiving a woman into handing over the sum in several transactions for investment in non-existent Islamic forex trading. – March 11, 2016.
