Special editions of the 2016 Volkswagen Up and Polo will pack 300W sound systems supplied by Beats Audio, and are to go on sale later this year.
After the six months of high profile scandal over fiddled engine emission ratings, Volkswagen is volunteering itself for a different sort of beating.
The Apple-owned Beats is delivering sound inside the supermini-sized Up and Polo cars, to the tune of a 300W, 8-channel amplifier with six speakers and a sub buried in the spare wheel well.
In addition, the Beats name will be applied to exterior and interior decals, and both vehicles will sport alloy wheels.
The second generation Up will be given a global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. – AFP/Relaxnews, February 28, 2016.
