The third-generation compact car aims to prove that small can still be immensely comfortable and immense fun to drive.
For its first significant tweak since its new body form was unveiled in 2012, Mercedes is focusing on making the car as accessible as possible for as many different driving styles as possible, simply through the touch of the Dynamic Select button.
In a split second the car's character will change from sporty to comfortable, or from eco-friendly to a tailored "Individual" mode. As well as more ride and performance settings, a new range of engines will be available when the car goes on sale at the end of September including a revised 381hp AMG powerplant with optional four-wheel-drive for some serious class-leading performance.
Despite its premium price ticket, the A-Class is one of the company's most popular and successful cars, especially with younger clients.
"As the most progressive model in the compact class, the model series has done much to make the Mercedes-Benz brand more youthful," said Daimler board member Ola Källenius.
"With this model update we are now meeting the wishes of many customers for even more comfort with no loss of dynamic performance." – AFP/Relaxnews, September 10, 2015.
