From ice cream to cake and even coffee, popcorn has taken the dessert course by storm. Here's 10 of the best popcorn-inspired delights in KL!
Foodsbury
Salted caramel is the token dessert flavour of Shah Alam café, Foodsbury, and what could be a better pair for it than popcorn? This drink in particular has a coffee-base that comes topped with a mountain of fluffy caramel popcorn that you can pick off before taking a sip! If you’re not a fan of coffee, Foodsbury offers a milk-based counterpart instead, which is just as good!
Known for their Korea-imported ingredients, Milkcow holds a standard for having the freshest high-quality soft serve ice cream. The Milky Pop is one of their many effortless creations, with plain vanilla ice cream, fresh crunchy popcorn on the top and bottom of the cup, and a light drizzle of caramel. The helping may look small for its price (RM11.50), but we can assure you that this thick, creamy ice cream is actually quite filling.
Negative Celsius
If you’re into ice cream then you would’ve definitely heard of KL’s latest fad: macaroon ice cream (RM9.90)! At Negative Celsius’ food truck, popcorn is one of the available toppings that you can choose for your fancy sandwich! We picked chocolate ice cream, a blue macaroon base, and some salty popcorn for a treat that’s not too sweet.
Bros Café
Last but not least, we had to place this gargantuan dessert in our list for its size and amazing taste! This caramel popcorn bingsoo can be found at Bros Café in Seremban 2’s Uptown district – made with shaved ice, misu (peanut soy powder), caramelised popcorn, and green tea ice cream, it’s so worth the travel from KL!
Gula Cakery
Arieni Ritzal is uber popular on Instagram for her gorgeous cakes and desserts, garnering her Gula Cakery a following of about 23,000! If you saw the beautiful confections she creates, you would follow her too! The salted caramel popcorn cake is just one of the many desserts available at her café in Shah Alam, and you can even sign up for a class on how to make it too!
