What makes this a must-have apart from the glorious plate of noodles laden with "wok hei" and cockles, bean sprouts and breakfast protein is the sheer energy emanating from the cook when he fries up each plate for your dining pleasure.
Hakka Mee @ Restoran Paris
The Hakka community has contributed vastly to the development of our nation, through the likes of Kapitans Yap Ah Loy, Chung Keng Quee and even Datuk Jimmy Choo!
A sentimental favourite of ours when it comes to Hakka food remains to be the Hakka noodles at Restoran Paris. Choked with lardy goodness, the noodles are silky, slithery smooth with fried minced pork, chilli oil, Ipoh taugeh, and come with a serving of yong tau foo in soup.
Wet Curry Mee @ Xin Quan Fang
Xin Quan Fang. It can be easy to forget that there’s far much more to Ipoh than its crunchy taugeh and clear soup noodles, but we assure you that the Silver state can serve up a bowl of mean curry noodles.
Just a few doors down from Restoran Paris along Jalan Sultan Iskandar is none other thanBe prepared for a mountain of char siew, roast pork, sliced prawns and mandatory bean sprouts to be served on your table. It even comes with a side of spicy dipping sauce because they understand how to ramp up a curry mee dining experience like no other.

You didn’t think we would leave outThe most popular dish ordered here by far is none other than the kai see hor fun (kway teow with chicken slices), and almost every patron inside the kopitiam is either slurping up a bowl of this hawker delight or waiting to be served.
No joke, average waiting time is a solid 45 minutes at least, but it’s well worth it especially if you’re in Ipoh for just a brief whirlwind of a weekend.

Yee Fatt has been wowing fans of curry mee for many a year with its variety of non-soup-based noodles.
Remember how we said Ipoh can dish up top-notch curry noodles? Also known as "the curry mee facing Methodist Girls’ School",Keep your eyes wide open as the thick, spicy, curry gravy is absorbed by the heap of noodles with a generous portion of char siew thrown casually on top. Don’t forget to order their famous Wu Yi herbal egg to soothe your throat at this laid back kopitiam too.
