If you think that this means cutting down on eating out, think again! The Malaysian Insider hunted down 30 cheap and good food spots around the Klang Valley and will reveal one for each day of the month of April.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Getting good value for a hearty breakfast, however, is just as important – at least for the pocket!

If you’re on the lookout for a big breakfast fry-up at great prices, head over to Coffee Sprex in Petaling Jaya. A little nook of a place in Taman Plaza, off the Damansara-Puchong Expressway, Coffee Sprex is the pride and joy of deaf and mute partners Angie Leong and Kent Cheong. The outlet serves breakfast, a variety of pastas, light bites and daily local specials.

For only RM9.50, you can get a big breakfast of two fried eggs, chicken bratwurst, luncheon meat, bacon and two slices of toast, plus cereal, milk and house pouring coffee thrown in if you come between 8am and 12pm. For RM5, you can get a toned down breakfast set of house-pouring coffee, a fried egg, two slices of toast and your choice of meat. Coffee Sprex also prides itself on its selection of brewed coffee from several countries around the world. These are served in a proper French press and cost from RM6 to RM9.

Try their daily specials too; my personal favourite is their vegetable dumplings. For RM6, you get a plate of six plump dumplings generously filled with sliced sengkuang and carrots and pleasantly flavoured with bits of dried shrimp.
