Must-visit cafes in Putrajaya, Cyberjaya

If you have a list of waffle places to hit, Big Bob's creamy and buttery waffles must be included! – HungryGoWhere pic, June 30, 2015.If you have a list of waffle places to hit, Big Bob's creamy and buttery waffles must be included! – HungryGoWhere pic, June 30, 2015.Lifestyle cafes are becoming the norm rather than the exception in Cyberjaya and Putrajaya. If you have already completed the cafe circuit in and around Klang Valley, then heading up to our federal administrative capital would represent a fresh breath of air regardless of whether you're looking to treat yourself to a delicious brunch or simply a bout of sightseeing.

After some legwork in the Multimedia Super Corridor vicinity, we managed to unearth these must-visit outlets. Great food and fantastic coffee awaits you!

Big Bob

Melty, stringy cheese makes the mozzarella grilled chicken sandwich (RM16.90) easy to warm up to here at Big Bob. Pillow-soft and warm, the buttery waffle (RM8.90) with vanilla ice cream (top up RM1.90) and fresh blueberries (RM2.90) also gets our thumbs up.

Definitely a decent place to dawdle over coffee (try the hot latte RM10.90) thanks to its ample and comfortable seating area.

Umai Cafe

Northern-style Malay fare takes centre stage at this lakefront cafe cum restaurant. Nasi lemak ayam berempah (RM6.50) – one of the popular day-long mainstays – is worth sampling; the steamed rice enriched with coconut milk came with sweetish sambal ikan bilis, spiced fried chicken and the usual condiments.

Home-style Malay and Thai dishes are the crowd-pullers comes lunch and dinner time while options for tea range from cucur udang (RM3 per plate) and jemput pisang (fried mashed banana fritters) to sweet dessert broths.

We like the vertical garden and floor-to-ceiling glass walls that give this cafe its laidback feel. Besides sandwiches, pasta, salad and Westernised fare, the menu also lists Japanese maki rolls, noodles, and rice meals.

Both the ebi furai maki (RM16.90) and Caesar salad with smoked salmon (RM15.90) pass muster while assorted nuts and capsicum are the key ingredients in the baked tomato rice (RM12.90).

A popular rendezvous among office execs and students to while away time over green tea latte (RM7.90) or hot chocolate (RM7.90).

Putrajaya and Cyberjaya play host to a string of events every weekend, and it's only right that you have a list of the best places to eat and where else to get your coffee fix. Click here for more Putrajaya cafe recommendations. – June 30, 2015.
