Tengku Adnan, also known as Ku Nan, was asked whether Umno would take any action against the two leaders for not toeing party line.
"No comment, no comment. Why should I comment on people who are childish? Let them become childish lah," Ku Nan said when met at the Parliament lobby.
Mukhriz, the former Kedah menteri besar, was among Umno leaders who signed the Citizens' Declaration last Friday demanding Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's resignation.
Although not a signatory himself, Umno vice-president Shafie had said it was a good move and that he supported it.
More than 40 leaders have signed the 37-point declaration led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, including former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, opposition party leaders and civil society movements.
Dr Mahathir yesterday said the cooperation between the various party leaders was temporary and they could resume their differences once the demands in the declaration were met. – March 10, 2016.
