Lembaga Tabung Haji says allegations by Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli on a corporate guarantee to one of its unit is baseless and slanderous which will hurt the interest of its depositors. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, February 28, 2016.Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today lodged a police report against Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli over his allegation that TH had given corporate guarantee to its associate company, TH Heavy Engineering Berhad (THHE).
In a statement in Kuala Lumpur today, TH said Rafizi, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president, was asked to name the bank which gave the loan to THHE, as claimed by him.
"TH regrets the dissemination of documents through the social media and the baseless and slanderous accusation.
"The allegation has a negative impact on TH and will hurt the interest of its depositors. TH will cooperate with the authorities in carrying out the investigation soonest possible," said the statement.
TH said the police report was made to protect the interest of its depositors and its own reputation as as Islamic institution in Malaysia. – Bernama, February 28, 2016.
