DC to publish new comics based on Hanna-Barbera characters
DC Entertainment will release a new, modern line-up of comics based on some of Hanna-Barbera's iconic Saturday morning cartoon characters reimagined in a contemporary way.
The new comics will include "Scooby Apocalypse" featuring work by artist Jim Lee and an original story by Lee and Keith Giffen ("Justice League 3001"). Artist Howard Porter ("Superman") will provide his own take on characters Freddie, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby-do.
Also in the lineup is "Future Quest". Writer Jeff Parker ("Aqua Man", "Justice League United") and artist Evan "Doc" Shaner ("Justice League: Darkseid War: Green Lantern") will bring new tales of adventure for the iconic teenager Jonny Quest and his sidekick Hadji.
The Flintstones will also be making a comeback. Using character designs by Amanda Conner ("Harley Quinn"), writer Mark Russell ("Prez, God Is Disappointed in You") will present his own perspective on the "modern stone age family". – AFP/Relaxnews, January 30, 2016.
