New Sherlock Holmes novel due in September
Hollywood screenwriter Bonnie MacBird ("Tron") is to pen two novels continuing the tales of Sherlock Holmes.
First picked up by industry source The Bookseller, the publishing deal will see a first book, “Art in the Blood: A Sherlock Holmes Adventure”, published in the US and the UK on September 10, 2015 by Harper 360.
"Art in the Blood" will be set in 1888 and is described as “a fast-paced tale of kidnap, murder and art theft featuring Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson as you love them”, taking them from London to Paris to Lancashire to solve their latest crime.
Emmy-winning writer and producer MacBird, a self-proclaimed “Sherlockian”, has posted more information about "Art in the Blood" on her website, including a plot description and links to preorder the book in the US and UK.
MacBird's books will follow two previous Sherlock Holmes novels written by Anthony Horowitz, 2011's “The House of Silk” and 2014 sequel “Moriarty”.
In other Sherlock Holmes news, a story intended to raise money for the Scottish town of Selkirk was recently found to be written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself. That story, “Sherlock Holmes: Discovering the Border Burghs and, by deduction, the Brig Bazaar”, has been published in full by The Telegraph. – AFP/Relaxnews, February 25, 2015.
