Random House announces Patricia Arquette memoir
Oscar winner Patricia Arquette is writing a memoir for Random House having closed a deal with the publisher.
Formative events outlined in a joint-statement with Random House include her upbringing and unusual family, becoming a single mother at 20, and being a woman working in Hollywood's film industry.
Born into a family of actors – her grandfather Cliff played comic character Charley Weaver on a number of variety shows in the 1960s, father Lewis was J.D. Pickett on "The Waltons," and siblings Alexis, David, Richmond and Rosanna are also in the trade – Patricia won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her performance in 2014's Richard Linklater film "Boyhood".
"The instant empathy audiences feel when they see her work on screen is completely evident on the page," said publisher and editor Susan Kamil.
"The material I read is revelatory and deeply moving. Not a surprise from an actress of such nuance and intelligence."
"Writing a memoir will be a new and intimate artistic journey for me, and I hope to bring to it the same honesty I have always sought to bring to my work as an actor" was Arquette's introduction to the project.
A release date is yet to be announced. – AFP Relaxnews, April 2, 2015.
