Berjaya Auto in spotlight ahead of Q3 results

Berjaya Auto Bhd became Bursa Malaysia's seventh most-actively traded stock in anticipation of the car distributor's third quarter financial announcement on Friday, according to analysts.

At 3.42pm today, Berjaya Auto saw some 26 million shares traded. The stock fell one sen or 0.5% to RM2.14 for a market capitalisation of RM2.45 billion.

"There has not been any market moving news or fundamental changes on Berjaya Auto of late. So, the only reason there is active trading of its shares today is the release of its results this Friday," an analyst told theedgemarkets.com.

Berjaya Auto's financial year ends on April 30. During the second quarter ended October 31, 2015, the company said net profit fell to RM53.06 million from RM57.52 million a year earlier.
