Ford launches car-sharing programmes to help users pay off payments
Ford is making its foray into the car sharing business with a pilot project that will allow drivers to pay off their vehicle by renting out their wheels to others.
To launch in six US cities and London, the Peer-2-Peer Car Sharing programme will allow 14,000 drivers in the US and 12,000 drivers in the UK to rent out their Ford Credit-financed car to drivers who have been pre-screened for short term use.
The programme is an extension of a similar pilot project called GoDrive that the company launched in London last month.
The programme will be launched in Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco in California; Portland, Oregon; Chicago and Washington DC and will run through November. – AFP, June 25, 2015.
