Year-to-date, the Ranger's sales have risen 22% to 5,520 units, according to Ford Motor Company's Malaysia and Asia Pacific emerging markets managing director David Westerman in a statement today.
"As we see momentum return to the industry, we're pleased that more and more Malaysians are being attracted by our class-leading Ranger, which continues to significantly outpace the performance of the pick-up segment," said Westerman.
The US-based car company has increased the Ranger stock for dealerships nationwide to meet with market demands.
Ford also announced that its July retail sales have reached 975 units in Malaysia. Besides the Ranger's contribution, the numbers were also driven by demand for the Fiesta and EcoSport.
The sporty Ford Fiesta's sale rose 12% in July over the previous month to 119 units, while 101 units of their SUV, the EcoSport, were sold.
The company also plans on strengthening the appeal of its Malaysia showroom as it refreshes its current line-up with the new Ranger and Everest, as well as their iconic American muscle car: The Mustang. – The Edge Markets, August 11, 2015.
