Mercedes unveils new GLC crossover
German prestige automaker has taken the wraps off its all-new mid-sized SUV, which will take on the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
When the car goes on sale globally in the Fall, it will be all about comfort, no matter how uneven the terrain. It boasts Air Body Control air suspension, dynamic all-wheel drive and a system that connects the two along with the performance set up so that the car feels sporty or smooth when needed.
"Our new GLC represents a further, systematic step in the implementation of our successful SUV philosophy. It combines the ultimate in driving comfort with a sporty touch, impresses on the road and – more than ever – off it as well," said Thomas Weber, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development.
Under the hood the GLC will come with an initial choice of two diesel engines, in Europe, offering 168bhp or 210bhp but they will be followed early in 2016 by much sportier and high performance petrol models, plus a plug-in hybrid. – AFP, June 18, 2015.
