Smoke in Malaysia
26 Jun 2014 — The smoke blanketing the country is an almost annual event. The worst-hit areas are the west coast of the peninsula, including the Klang Valley. Among the sources of the smoke are open burning in central Sumatra, Indonesia, dry weather, forest burning, peat fires, emissions from vehicles and industries. The smoke is a health hazard and affects tourism numbers, too.
