Avoid intense outdoor activities during heat wave, says minister

Subramaniam says measures to prevent health complications are needed although there is no admission of patient due to heat wave-related illness currently. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, March 13, 2016.To prevent health complications fuelled by dehydration during the current heat wave, the health minister has advised the public to reduce intense outdoor activities and drink plenty of water.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said such measures were needed although there was no admission of patient due to heat wave-related illness currently.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating the ground-breaking ceremony of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Taman Sentosa in Klang today.

Due to the El Nino weather pattern this month, Malaysia expects to see warmer than usual weather and reduced rainfall. – Bernama, March 13, 2016.
