www.change.org, said PKR vice president Shamsul Iskandar Md. Akin.
The Citizens' Declaration to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will be promoted to the public and one of the ways would be by "consolidating" efforts with online petition platformThis was decided at a meeting with the declaration's 45 signees last night with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. The group that signed the declaration have now called themselves the Save Malaysia Movement.
Shamsul, who was present last night, said the two-hour meeting discussed plans to push the declaration out to public.
“One initiative that has been made was putting it online at change.org.
"As of last night, 37,000 have signed the declaration. We will consolidate with the platform on this matter,” the Bukit Katil MP said in the Parliament lobby today.
The petition at change.org which calls for Najib's resignation expresses support for the Citizens' Declaration that was launched by Dr Mahathir on March 4.
The online petition was initiated by activist Azrul Mohd Khalib and at around 1pm today, it had a total of 37,272 supporters.
"The words of the Citizen’s Declaration have inspired us all and electrified the nation. Make no mistake, the 45 individuals do not speak out or stand alone. We stand together with them in agreement on the points highlighted by the Declaration," part of the petition read.
The actual words of the declaration launched by Dr Mahathir have also been reproduced at a google site and requires signatories to submit their full names and identity card numbers. – March 10, 2016.
