"PAC can investigate SRC International. I will propose to PAC that we investigate SRC because it’s a fully-owned subsidiary of the Finance Ministry," he said at the Parliament lobby today.

"Let’s see what the committee will say to my proposal, but we want to finish the work on 1MDB first, otherwise there will be lots of excuses that other things need to be investigated... so they need to postpone the investigation on 1MDB."

He said it was up to PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin to take up his proposal.

On February 11, PAC completed its interviews of key witnesses in its 1MDB probe.

Hasan then said the panel’s priority was to hear the A-G’s final report, and that it would only call more witnesses if it felt it was absolutely necessary for the preparation of PAC's report on 1MDB.

PAC’s report on the administration of the Finance Ministry-owned firm will be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat.

The final audit report, which was classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972, will be declassified as an official secret  after it is tabled.

The decision to classify the audit report under OSA was made by Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang

Hasan said this was to prevent details of the report from being disclosed to irresponsible quarters. – March 10, 2016.
