Backstreet Boys singer arrested over bar fight
Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was arrested on assault charges after a fight outside a bar in Florida, police said Thursday.
Carter, 35, was with another person, Michael Papayans, Wednesday evening in a bar called Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, according to a police report.
It said a bartender realised they were inebriated and refused to serve them.
Carter and Papayans became angry and ignored requests for them to leave, so they were escorted out.
Outside the bar Papayans hit a bouncer and Carter grabbed one by the throat, the report said.
The incident was recorded on film, police said.
Carter will appear before a judge Thursday.
Carter is one of the singers with Backstreet Boys, which achieved worldwide fame in the 1990s with songs like "I want it that way", "Everybody (Backstreet's back)" and "Show me the meaning of being lonely".
He was also on "Dancing with the Stars" last year. – AFP, January 15, 2016.
