Grammys to be livestreamed into China
For the first time, Chinese fans will be able to watch The Grammy Awards as it airs live next month.
To localise the content and make it relevant to Chinese viewers, Chinese tech and media company LeEco will send a Chinese broadcast team and A-list Chinese and Hong Kong pop stars to the show, reports The Hollywood Reporter (THR).
The show is a partnership between the Recording Academy and LeEco.
The Grammys is the latest Western production that will be livestreamed to mass Chinese audiences, reported THR.
The company's sports brand also acquired exclusive rights to stream Major League Baseball games and Wimbledon into China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
The Grammy Awards air February 15 at 8pm ET. – AFP Relaxnews, January 31, 2016.
