Indian sensation Anirudh promises ‘bigger, better, crazier’ concert
About a year after entertaining local fans here in a musical extravaganza, Indian music composer Anirudh Ravichander is back to treat fans in Malaysia on Valentine’s eve at Stadium Merdeka.
The young composer and heartthrob said next month's “Anirudh Live in Kuala Lumpur 2016” would be his tribute to his Malaysian fans, promising to dazzle and entertain.
“It is going to be much bigger, better and crazier this year, it will be an audio visual treat for fans,” he told reporters at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur last week.
Anirudh confirmed that he would be releasing and performing a new single during the concert.
“I will be performing the song live for fans, a Valentine’s gift from me,” he said.
Anirudh said Malaysia was not originally on the cards for a second visit during his world tour but the love from fans brought him back, adding that Malaysia felt like a second home to him.
Anirudh was only 21 when he gained international fame with his first song, “Why This Kolaveri”, composed for the Tamil film “3”.
The song went viral on YouTube and became one of the biggest hits of 2012.
Three years later, Anirudh already has various awards under his belt.
He is now among the most sought-after music directors in the Tamil film industry, besides being the youngest among them.
“I never expected to be where I am now in such a short time and the will to cling on to the success was what motivated me to work harder every time,” he said.
Anirudh added that social media played a huge part in bringing him fame.
“Most of the age group (fans) are on social media and that works well for me to reach them and provide updates,” he sad adding that this kept his relationship with fans close.
Anirudh's concert will be held at Stadium Merdeka on February 13. The three-and-a-half-hour concert will also see a number of local artistes take to the stage, including Balan Kashmir, Rabbit Mac, Switch LockUp, Keeran D and DJ Biggie among others.
Tickets for the concert are available online at airasiaredtix.com and are priced at RM133 (general admission/student, standing), RM283 (VIP, seating) and RM383 (Terikeh Zone, standing). – January 18, 2016.
