The two new stars of the latest "Star Wars" trilogy have made their way onto the prestigious Forbes "30 under 30" list of hot young Hollywood talent to watch out for in 2016.

Landing lead roles in the seventh intergalactic adventure, "The Force Awakens", has thrust John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, both aged 23, straight into the spotlight.

Starring as Finn and Rey, the two up-and-coming actors feature alongside other young talents from the movie industry such as Dakota Johnson (26), who starred in "Fifty Shades of Grey", Swedish actress Alicia Vikander (27), seen in the movie "The Danish Girl", Canadian director Xavier Dolan (26), who won the Jury Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival for "Mommy", Brie Larson (26), recently seen in "Trainwreck" and tipped for an Oscar in 2016, Taron Egerton (26), first seen in "Kingsman: The Secret Service", and Saoirse Ronan, aged just 21, who starred in Ryan Gosling's first movie "Lost River".

Last summer's biopic about rap group N.W.A, "Straight Outta Compton", proved another hotbed of young talent, with three of its stars on the prestigious list. Corey Hawkins (27) stood out in his role as Dr Dre, O'Shea Jackson (24) played his own father, Ice Cube, and Jason Mitchell (28) played rapper Eazy E.

The list includes a few familiar faces from the small screen too, such as Emilia Clarke from "Game of Thrones", Zosia Mamet from "Girls", Bryshere Grey from "Empire", and Matt McGorry, who starred in "Orange is the New Black" and "How to Get Away With Murder".

The "30 under 30" list is compiled for Forbes by a panel of three celebrities. This year's judges were TV series writer and producer Shonda Rhimes ("Grey's Anatomy"), presenter Kelly Osbourne and Legendary Pictures producer Thomas Tull. – AFP/Relaxnews, January 5, 2016.
