MacGyver reboot gets Furious 7 director

Made famous in the 1980s and early 1990s, MacGyver starred Richard Dean Anderson as a secret agent armed only with his wits, craftsmanship, and a very practical understanding of scientific principles.
MacGyver, then, would worm his way out of dangerous situations using nothing more than the discarded things around him and, quite often, a trusty Swiss Army knife.
CBS has ordered a pilot episode of the proposed new MacGyver treatment, which will act as an origin story for the character. – AFP/Relaxnews, February 4, 2016.
