Felda’s win over Pahang spurs Super League campaign

Felda United's 2-0 win over Pahang has spurred  the team's challenge in the Super League this season.

Head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim is satisfied with the team's performance and optimistic they can keep the momentum going in the next match.

"We played better than we did against Sime Darby and T-Team. Despite the three points, I am a bit disappointed because we failed to score more goals.

"The win is the right motivation for the team when they play Terengganu away in the next match," he told reporters after the match against Pahang at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium, Jengka last night.

Meanwhile, Pahang head coach Ahmad Shaharuddin Ahmad Rosdi blamed his team's loss to lack of experience as many of the players are still young.

"We played well in the first 30 minutes but lack of experience and a capable leader cost us the match."

The under pressure coach said he would do the job until told otherwise by Pahang Football Association president Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah and the management.

Ahmad Shaharuddin, who recently quit as Pahang head coach, said he did not have any plans other than to focus on developing football in Pahang.

Asked about what made him decide to quit as Pahang head coach, he said "I was under pressure and disappointed with what happened.

"The reaction of the supporters also helped me to reach the decision," he added. – Bernama, March 13, 2016.
