JDT receives RM1 million for winning 2015 AFC Cup
The Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football team received RM1 million from the federal government for winning the Asian Football Confederation Cup (AFC) 2015.
JDT is the first club from Malaysia and Southeast Asia to lift the trophy after defeating Tajikistan club, FC Istiklol, 1-0 in the final at the Central Republican Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, last October.
The contribution is hoped will aid the development of football in Johor.
The cheque from the federal government was presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to Johor Football Association president Datuk Ismail Karim at the opening ceremony of the Forest City real estate project today.
The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar launched the project. – Bernama, March 6, 2016.
