Resurgent Terengganu beat Selangor 3-1 in Super League action

A resurgent Terengganu beat Selangor 3-1 team in a Super League match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium yesterday.

Issey Nakajima of Canada was the toast of the Turtles with two goals while   Juan Jose Morales of Argentina scored the third goal.

The lone Selangor goal was scored by new boy R Gopinathan.

Terengganu took to the field with confidence and were rewarded when Nakajima's crisp shot from outside the penalty box found the net in the 45th minute.

However, Terengganu's joy was shortlived when R. Gopinathan rewarded Selangor with the equalising goal just one minute after the break (46th minute).

Terengganu's other foreign striker, Juan Jose Morales brought joy to the home crowd when he scored the second goal in the 79th minute.

Nakajima put the game beyond Selangor's reach when he nodded home a cross from Joseph Kalang Tie in the 87th minute to make it 3-1.

After five matches played, Terengganu are in fourth in the Super League table with nine points while Selangor are second with 10 points. – Bernama, March 12, 2016.
