More than 5 million PlayStation 4s sold worldwide as of January 3

Sony Computer Entertainment announced yesterday that it had sold 35.9 million units of its PlayStation 4 globally as of January 3.

Over the 2015 holiday season, consumers bought more than 5.7 million of the computer entertainment systems.

In addition, 60% more users subscribed to PlayStation Plus at the end of 2015 compared with the same period the previous year.

The Play Station Plus offers subscribers access to a variety of features, including "Monthly Games" which allow members to play complete versions of popular third party developers. PS4 owners can also enjoy online multiplayer with PS Plus.

The PS4 system is currently available in 124 countries and regions worldwide. – AFP/RelaxNews, January 6, 2016.
