Sharp preparing 1st 8K TV for sale
An 85-inch 8K TV will go on sale from October 30, Japanese electronics giant Sharp has announced.
The 8K denomination equates to a 7680 x 4320 resolution – a 16-times increase on the 1080p HD standard.
Sharp brought a 8K display technology to CES 2015 in January, and the new LV-85001 will be a world first when it is made commercially available in Japan.
Current plans, however, are that the TV will be sold business to business instead of at retail, at a price that AV Watch believes to be ¥16,000,000 (RM565,000). – AFP/Relaxnews, September 17, 2015.
