Superior printing experience with Pixma Photo AIO MG7770
The Pixma Photo All-in-One MG7770 is Canon’s latest flagship inkjet printer. It is also certainly the most advanced of Canon’s range of photo printers to date, combining ultimate convenience and superior output quality in a stylish sturdy body.
Upfront, what stands out about the MG7770 is its colour: an unexpected gold! Its siblings, the MG3670 comes in striking red while the MG5770 comes in black. Appearances aside, this printer is equipped with features that pack a punch, especially for those who are tech-savvy and uber-connected on social media.
Canon printers are known to be easy to operate and set up, but the MG7770 takes the lead in fuss-free set-up, allowing you to start printing within minutes of unboxing. This hassle-free, step-by-step process is possible with the new Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy app, which facilitates printer set-up and registration. Saving up to approximately 30% of setup time, the MG7770 is virtually idiot-proof.
Clearly, Canon has given some thought to creating a machine that integrates seamlessly with other mobile devices via the Canon Pprint Inkjet/Selphy app which is available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
With this app, you can print and scan documents and photos from your iOS and Android mobile devices. The MG7770 gets extra points for its ability to print directly from social media websites such as Facebook, Instagram and other applications like Evernote, Dropbox and Google Drive. Users of tablet PC devices can benefit from the Easy PhotoPrint+ feature, found in the app menu.
Another hassle-free feature of the MG7770 is its NFC capability and the new Wi-Fi Direct, which connects the printer to a smart device without a wireless router or additional password authentication. And you can print directly from your smart device without any downloaded applications, too – just use the Google Cloud Print Function or Canon Print Service plug-in (Android) and Apple AirPrint feature (iOS).
On the practical front, ink cartridge replacement and paper stack loading are easily done from a front-facing panel, while paper jams and ink levels, as well as print head cleaning and alignment can be done with a click of the Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy app. There is also a power-saving function that turns the printer on automatically when a print command is sent from a computer, and off after a period of inactivity.
Output and print quality is top notch with the MG7770 thanks to its FINE technology. Expect high resolution images in bright, vivid colours and razor sharp text and fine lines at a speed of approximately 15 ipm (B&W) / 10 ipm (colour), while 4R photos are printed in 21 seconds. And if you are into heavy printing, you have the option of upsizing to the XL-sized ink cartridges for higher page yields while minimising ink replacement cycles and cost.
The Pixma Photo AIO MG7770 is available at selected Canon outlets at RM841 inclusive of GST. – December 14, 2015.
