Tinder's plans were revealed via a tweet from the Web Summit, with Mashable offering more details.

According to the tech website, Tinder CEO and founder Sean Rad said that the change, the most significant to its algorithm yet, was hoped to boost connections made on the app by 30%.

Rad noted a desire to promote "deeper connections" in light of the large volume of people using the service.

Tinder currently sees 1.6 billion swipes and 26 million matches per day. – AFP, November 5, 2015.
