After all, everyone knows that compatible bacon preferences are the building blocks of any successful relationship.

Enter Sizzl, a virtual meat market that comes with a built-in ice breaker – “how do you like your bacon?” – and aims to put an end to singletons eating bacon alone.

Commissioned by bacon-maker Oscar Mayer, the app works much the same way as Tinder.

After telling the app about their preferences – turkey, pork, crispy, burnt – users will then be paired with potential matches and be able to swipe through the photos.

When they see someone they like, they hold down the “Sizzl Meter”.

Mutual matches are then notified and free to chat each other up. And wax poetic about their mutual love of bacon.

Sizzl is the latest food-related app to take a swipe from Tinder.

This summer saw the launch of Tender, a mobile app that allows users to swipe right to save a recipe, and swipe left to throw it away.

Nor is it the first time Oscar Mayer has come up with a headline-grabbing marketing gimmick for bacon lovers.
