Air France ad is top YouTube travel video of 2015
Air France holds bragging rights to having the most popular travel-related YouTube video of 2015, having garnered more than 87.9 million hits.
As the year winds down, Google has rounded up the top travel videos of 2015, a list that’s made up of airline and hotel ads, an in-flight safety video, and video tours of Nepal and Legoland in Florida.
Taking the top spot by a big margin is Air France’s promotional video “France in the Air,” which began airing in France, the US, Brazil, Japan, China and Italy in March as part of an aggressive rebranding campaign that aimed to encapsulate all the virtues of French culture: fashion, gastronomy, the Tour de France, ballet, and even, the French kiss.
The result is a highly stylized 45-second ad that features beautiful actors swinging daintily in a bright, airy simulated cabin.
With 16.8 million hits, the second most-viewed travel video on YouTube is a 24-minute tour of Legoland's hotel grand opening in Florida, filmed by FUNnel Vision, a family-oriented vlogger with more than 720,780 subscribers.
And a video of a 787-9 Dreamliner rehearsing for its big performance at the 2015 Paris Air Show, uploaded in June, rounds out the top three travel videos of 2015, having garnered nearly more than 12.7 million hits.
