JetBlue introduces checked bag fee
JetBlue joins the majority of US airlines as it implements the policy of charging a fee for checked luggage.
JetBlue airlines has changed its pricing policy. Now, customers who purchase a regular “Blue” ticket will be charged up to US$25 (RM93.83) for every first bag checked in (US$20 online or at a kiosk) and US$35 for every additional bag.
Carry-on luggage – one bag and one personal item – remains free of charge. These new pricing regulations do not apply to customers who have already purchased tickets.
The “Blue” ticket refers to one of three new fare brackets that JetBlue has rolled out: Blue, Blue Plus and Blue Flex. Premium tickets are available through “Mint”, a first-class option that was launched in 2014.
JetBlue has published its new fare policy on its website. – AFP/Relaxnews, July 1, 2015.
