Nepal Airlines announces ‘buy two get one free’ offer on KL-Kathmandu route
Nepal’s state-owned airline company, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced a new attractive offer of ‘buy two get one free’ on Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu sector to attract more passengers.
NAC is giving one ticket free upon the purchase of two tickets to passengers flying on the Kuala Lumpur sector, NAC spokesman Hari Sharma said in a statement today.
The offer came following the decline of passenger flow after the April 25 earthquake, particularly following the standoff between the Nepal government and the manpower agencies over the fees for sending Nepalese migrant workers to different countries, including Malaysia.
NAC’s new offer is valid for round-trip tickets for a limited period.
"We have announced the offer targeting both national and international passengers traveling to Malaysia and other destinations via Kuala Lumpur," said Sharma.
At present almost 75% of passengers on the Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur sector constitute Nepalese migrant workers.
As the number of migrant workers has declined recently, airlines have drastically reduced their flights on the Kathmandu sector.
The Nepal government has recently announced its decision to send migrant workers to Malaysia and some Gulf countries only on condition that they are provided free visa and free tickets by the employers.
The recruitment agencies have opposed this decision and halted the process of sending Nepalese migrant workers abroad for the last one week.
