Singapore to offer world’s first online-to-offline shopping mall
Singapore is looking to become a leader in e-commerce, by introducing a mall that combines online and offline shopping, reports TechCrunch.
Singpost, Singapore's postal service provider, has unveiled a mall where shoppers can purchase items in store, order them online from the mall and have them delivered at home.
The mall, which will be completed in mid-2017, will show off 25,000 sq m of space over five storeys. An eight-screen cinema will also feature among the offerings.
The mall would be the first in the world to offer online and offline shopping in one central place. China's Alibaba has invested US$4.6 billion (RM19.85 billion) to improve on its online-offline sales offering but Singpost would be the first to do so with a shopping mall. – AFP/Relaxnews, October 29, 2015.
