A matured and civilised society is defined by the way they treat the less fortunate in their society. That is one saying that many people already know.
That is what I have been taught by my parents at home and also by my teachers in school – we should always sympathise and help those less fortunate than us.
If I am confronted with people who are in need, I try to do what I can within reason to assist them because it’s just the right thing to do.
If a physically challenged individual is trying to make a living by selling small items on the street, I usually help them out and buy something.
I also believe that you should never kick somebody when they are down. I wouldn’t want it to happen to me, so I would definitely not do it to someone else.
For example, if someone I know owes me a bit of money but who is already down on his luck when it comes to his business, I wouldn’t want to pester him to pay me. That’s just not nice.
Hey, I guess I’m just a nice guy!
So, here is my call for the participants of the nudist gathering in Penang to just be left alone and that no action be taken against them.
I have seen the original and uncensored, widely-distributed video of their fun and games in the sun and sand before it made the news.
I have to say, the men, who were the majority in the nudist group, are much less fortunate than me (or many of us... on average!).
If anything, I feel like helping them out. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I can do other than to recommend them certain websites that offer tips for personal growth.
Also, I have to say, and I’m sure many agree, is that the entire video had not even an ounce of sexual element in it. Yes, they were naked. But just being naked doesn’t mean being sexual.
Just look at the activities and games they were playing. I can’t help but feel so sorry for them, really. It looks like they could maybe socialise a bit more, see the world and live a little.
I do understand that they were in a public place and it is illegal to be in the nude in a public place here in Malaysia. But the beach seemed isolated and there weren’t any outsiders.
Anyway, they all just seemed so innocent and without a care in the world. They obviously didn’t even realise they were doing anything wrong or harmful.
Look, they are already being made fun off and are being laughed at even before the news picked up the issue. I’m sure they feel bad enough already now.
So how about we just give them a break? Tell them not to do it anymore and we forget about it. No need to waste time, energy and manpower to do all sorts of investigation.
It is really just a tiny matter anyway! – August 8, 2014.
