More than simply ask users to answer a list of cod psychology questions, Fetch! can actually identify a dog's breed from a photo – be it from the web or snapped with a smartphone – and then provide all the relevant information on it.

This includes what human personality traits best mesh with a specific dog breed's characteristics.

As an added bonus the app can tell a user what sort of dog he or she would be if they were themselves canine.

The app is free and fun but is a serious demonstration of Microsoft's machine learning and image recognition capabilities. Download it from the App Store. – AFP/Relaxnews, February 12, 2016.
