The latest Hotels Price Index (HPI) report is based on hotel booking data collected from January to June of this year, and tracks travel and spending patterns of its users from all over the world.

Swiss travellers spent the most on hotels in Malaysia, spending an average of RM425 per night, followed by Norwegians at RM402 per night.

For Malaysians travelling abroad, Bangkok reigned as the top travel destination, while Singapore and Bali trailed behind in second and third place.

The latest HPI also showed that Malaysians spent the most on hotel rooms in the United Kingdom at an average of RM697 per night followed by America (RM631/night) and Italy (RM596/night).
