London has emerged the most popular travel destination on Twitter, according to a new report that looked at the number of times the world's most popular cities were tweeted along with the hashtag "travel".
According to data from London & Partners, the words "London" and "travel" were tweeted together more than 630,000 times in 2015, with a healthy 200,000-lead over its nearest rival, Paris.
London & Partners is the Mayor of London's promotional company.
Their data crunching reveals that "London" alone was tweeted 81 million times in 2015. Some of the most commonly tweeted word associations include art, travel and fashion.
Here are the most tweeted travel destinations on Twitter for the period between February 2015 and January 2016:
